Royal Heritage Gardens & Green Canopies of Mysuru

Planned under the visionary urban forestry mandates of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and horticulturalist G.H. Krumbiegel, Mysuru was engineered as a Garden City. Explore the four monumental royal promenades, musical fountain cascades, century-old rain trees, and protected avian bio-corridors.

Direct Overview:

Mysuru's royal green spaces comprise four historic gardens: Brindavan Gardens (60 acres below KRS Dam with Mughal terraces and illuminated musical fountains), Curzon Park (Palace North promenade featuring century-old flowerbeds and annual Dasara flower shows), Nishad Bagh / Kupanna Park (glass house conservatory and musical fountain), and Gordon Park (colonial civic lawns opposite Crawford Hall). The city is connected by 12 km of century-old tree avenues that cool urban ambient temperatures by 2–3°C.

Species like Samanea saman (Rain Tree), Jacaranda mimosifolia, and Tabebuia rosea create dense shade arches over Krishnaraja Boulevard, Radhakrishnan Avenue, and Vishwavidyanilaya Road.
